Giveaway Winner!

Today I get to announce the winner of this beautiful breast cancer awareness inspired rug called "Karen's Warrior Rug." I was really proud to be able to team up with Company C and bring some extra attention to this amazing cause. There can't ever possibly be enough help and attention given to breast cancer research until a cure is found and a stop is put to this disease.

I'm very excited that I am able to share this rug with one lucky person who hopefully will be reminded of what it represents every time they see it. The winner of this hand-hooked wool beauty is:

Charlene who said: "The most inspiring woman in my life was my aunt Marion. She died of breast cancer but she never let the disease get her down & ruin what time on earth she had left. She always smiled & enjoyed her life right to the end."

A big congrats to Charlene and thank you all so much for your inspiring stories of the women in your life. Stay tuned because another giveaway is right around the corner and you're going to love it!

Recklessly Blissful Gift Guide

Well, Thanksgiving is over for everyone and the next official holiday is the biggie! I love Christmas for so many reasons but one of the biggest reasons is I think it’s really fun to buy gifts for people I love and show my appreciation to them. Any time a holiday comes up I hunt and hunt, trying to find the perfect gift so I thought I would help you guys out by suggesting some of my favorite finds to buy for family and friends this year. It's never too early to start your Christmas shopping. If I were Oprah, I'd just give you all my favorite finds for free but sadly I am not. However, I can make it much easier on you. Every single item can be found at Amazon.com where shipping is free on orders of $25 or more and you never have to brave the chaotic parking lots and malls. For your additional ease, a link to each gift can be found on the page as well. I hope these items give you some good ideas for that hard to buy for special someone on your list.

200,000. That’s the number of women that will be diagnosed with breast cancer just this year! As part of their Passion for Pink initiative, the wonderful people over at Company C have created two spin-off rugs from their best-selling Garland and Giverny rug designs to honour those very women fighting the fight everyday. Now re-coloured in shades of pink, the rugs are named “Karen’s Warrior Rug” and “The Sisters Rug” which were inspired by two incredible stories sent in about real women and their fights against breast cancer. See their stories and more about Company C’s noble efforts here.

‘Tis The Season

I know that Thanksgiving is still to come for most but being that I am Canadian the next big holiday ‘round these parts is Christmas. It kind of surprises me how much debate occurs about when the appropriate time to start celebrating is. In my experience, people get quite riled up in favor of one way or the other. How can you put a time frame on it? I watch Christmas movies all year and my iPhone is loaded with all the music year round because Christmas is an instant mood boaster and I like to carry a little piece of it everywhere I can. That being said, it should come as no shock that my holiday decor is already up and in full swing because Christmas can’t come early enough for me …and judging by how many Christmas commercials are on TV these days, I’m guessing a lot of other people are in the mood for fal-la-la-ing too. So in the spirit of candy canes and reindeers here is some holly jolly Christmas ideas for all of you that can’t get enough just like me:
